960 N La Brea Avenue is a 6 story commercial/industrial building which appears to be designed as a warehouse space. The building has a reinforced concrete structure consisting of concrete columns and structural concrete floor slabs. The concrete floor and roof systems consist of reinforced concrete drop panels and a two-way beam system. No basement was observed at this location.
Built in 1933, at the corner of Le Brea Avenue and Romaine Street. Placing the building just south of the West Hollywood line and one block south of the West Hollywood Gateway mall. Attractions in the vicinity include Sunset Strip, St. Vincent Catholic Church, the Schindler House and the Le Brea Tar Pits.
At the time of this as-built survey, Jerry Solomon Enterprises, Inc. occupied most of the building. Several of the upper floor tenant spaces were occupied by artists. On Le Brea Avenue, there was a sidewalk sculpture as a tribute to the artisan culture of the area. The sculpture has since been removed to restore the windows that it covered.
