Earl Gregg Swem Library
Williamsburg, Virginia
Client: The College of William & Mary Date: Winter 1997
A 105,400 square foot addition to the Earl Gregg
Swem Library. The new structure is four stories tall with a full basement and is divided into two pavilions.
It is a cast-in-place concrete structure consisting of
waffle slab floor system, concrete columns and an
auger-cast pile foundation.
I was responsible for developing the structural drawing
and insuring that the waffle slab was depicted and dimensioned correctly. We were commended by Robert Peroe, a state Architect
in charge of reviewing all state projects at the Division of Engineering and Buildings, on the quality of our drawings.
