SENIOR CAD TECHNICIAN
HARDESTY & HANOVER, L.L.P. – MAY 2001 TO PRESENT.

Setup the CAD department and instituted Drafting Standards to comply with Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT). Created a satellite office CAD Standards manual and standard operating procedure. Produced drawings on MicroStation/J for various projects. Reviewed shop drawings. Produced renderings, animations and graphics for projects, meetings, interviews, proposals and conferences. Assisted in marketing proposals and presentations. Met with clients and prospective clients. Provided computer and network support for day-to-day use. Participated in site visits and investigations.

Relevant projects: Portsmouth Ferry Dock, Woodrow Wilson Bridge I95/Route1 Interchange, Chincoteague Black Narrows Bridge replacement and Ferrell Parkway Extension.

Manager/CAD Responsibilities: Main responsibilities were scheduling projects, staffing CAD department, educating and evaluating CAD staff, setting company CAD standards, developing a standards manual and creating various programs to improve efficiency and data management. Acted as the project manager for various projects (which included projects with accelerated permit, bid and construction schedules), coordinated project design and progress with the clients. Experience with masonry, steel, timber, concrete, waterfront, detention center, food service, industrial, educational and blast design. Performed field inspections and investigations. Produced 3-D renderings.

Designed and produced Structural, Architectural, Civil and Mechanical drawings for various projects on AutoCAD r12 and MicroStation v5. Experience with masonry, steel, timber, concrete, waterfront, detention center, educational, green and blast design. Produced base map of Shaw A.F.B. Produced 3-D renderings and 3-D models for digital walk-throughs. Assisted business development through computer graphics, drawing, scanning, and editing.

UNIDYNE CORPORATION - AUGUST 1992 TO AUGUST 1993.

Security Clearance: Secret. Developed Ship Alteration Drawings for Eldyne, Inc. as directed by Naval Sea Systems Command. Second shift supervisor, was responsible for the scheduling of work and maintaining work performance. Performed ship checks on the USS Gary in San Diego and the USS Elrod in Charleston. Developed Level III Fabrication Drawings from raster (scanned) drawings. Converted and standardized drawings from multiple CAD systems at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center. Developed an illustrated Standard Operating Procedures manual on converting drawings to Intergraph for new users.
